VODACOM’S Summa feva is back once again and is set to rock Setsoto Stadium tomorrow.

Since its inception seven years ago, Summa feva has become one of Lesotho’s premier festivals and an eagerly awaited event that sets the tone for the festive season entertainment.

The festival is famous for its impressive line-up of both local and international acts, hence the massive turnout of revellers some of whom come from outside the country.

What also sets the Summa feva apart is its variety of music genres—from old-school kwaito, house, Afro-jazz, hip-hop, the list is endless.

The festival normally starts at around 4pm and continues until the following morning, and always delivers an experience of a lifetime, hence its reputation as the ‘festival of the year’.

This year, the Summa feva would feature local heavyweights such as El Que, Stlofa, L-tore, Nirex, Basali Allstars, Skebz D, Kopper, Thoxie, Davertz, Jiji f, Kommanda Obbs and D2AMAJOE, while South African artistes would include Oskido, Black Motion, Alaska, Khuli Chana, Euphonik, Dr Malinga, Cassper Nyovest, K.O, Nastee Nev, and for the first time in Lesotho, Mscosmo, Reason, Shimza and Heavy K.

Born Nonqaba Nozuko Rwaxa in Soweto, Mscosmo is arguably South Africa’s hottest female hip-hop DJ and VJ at the moment. As the first and only female DJ on Channel O Bassment, Mscosmo has quickly made her mark on the continent and gained respect in the hip-hop community for her undoubted talent.

On the other hand, Reason, who was born Sizwe Moeketsi in Tembisa, joined the hiphop industry at a tender age as a streetbattle-cat who also took part in numerous competitions. The Bump the Cheese Up! rapper began making headlines when his single, Walk on Water became the sound-track of the movie Otelo Burning and also being featured on numerous American artists’ tours in South Africa.

Shimza and Heavy K are currently a breath of fresh air to Msanzi’s house music scene.

Channel o Bassment VJ Mscosmo makes her debut appearance at the Vodacom Summa Feva this year.

KOMMANDA obbs (above) and l-tore will perform at the Vodacom Summa Feva tomorrow.
