‘Six-to-six’ back at LDF
LDF have re-appointed Motheo ‘Six-to-six’ Mohapi as head-coach for the 2015/16 Vodacom Premier league season.
The team’s public relations officer, Donny Ntakha, on Tuesday confirmed the developments to the Lesotho Times, adding Malefetsane Pheko, who led the side to fifth-place last season, had been demoted to assistant coach.
“It’s true that Mohapi is back as the new headcoach and Pheko would be his assistant,” Ntakha said.
“the point is, Mohapi was away due to work commitments hence he ended up coaching at likhopo for a short spell. However, he has since returned and will be with us going forward.”
Meanwhile, LCS have beefed up their squad with the signing of attacking midfielder Makara Ntaitsane from likhopo.
LCS secretary general lehlohonolo Matlosa confirmed the arrival of Ntaitsane, who joins from Likhopo.
“We have finalised everything with Likhopo and he is now our player,” Matlosa said.
“The coach identified a void in our attacking positions and wanted someone who can play as a second striker and Makara was that missing link in our squad. “I think we have now completed our business as far as signing new players is concerned.”
Ntaitsane, who came through the likhopo development ranks, was the club’s top goal-scorer last season and also recently part of the national team training squad although he failed to make the cut in the end.
likhopo, in the meantime, have also made changes to their technical team by roping in club legend Shalane lehohla as head-coach following the departure of Motheo Mohapi and Wright Mofoka.
Lehohla, a former midfielder for Likuena, also worked at LCS where he was assistant coach to Katiso Mojakhopo.
the Red army are also negotiating with lioli over the possible transfer of Salebone lekhooa to the defending league champions, according to likhopo team manager Qamako Mahao.
“We have a new coach in lehohla, who has just started working with us and will be in charge of the team in the new season,” Mahao said.
“as for lekhooa, we are still in negotiations with lioli because he has shown interest in joining them.”
