With his latest single, K Keep swinging, already causing a b buzz on local radio stations, househouse-music exponent and deejay, Hu Hunky D( pictured), has vowed to k keep raising the bar higher.

the Mookoli-born artiste fo forms part of entertainment ou outfit Mindset Music, which pla played host to swaziland’s DJ pe peace when he was launching his album last year.

Hunky D joined the en entertainment industry in 2 2011 after drawing inspirat inspiration from south african heavyhea weights DJ Fresh and Oskido. Like most deej deejays, Hunky learned his c craft using a computer, but has since become very ve versatile, produc producing different sub-genres of house-music such as deep, commercial and electro. Hunky D’s hard work landed him a slot on popular disc-spinner, sir schaba’s award-winning compilation, Opulance vol 1, where his track, Got My Eye On You, was featured.

Keep Swinging is Hunky D’s first single of his upcoming sophomore five-track solo project called Compositive ep set to drop on 1 september and officially launched with a massive bash at Khubetsoana joint 4Fordy on 2 October.

this single, which has kept house-heads’ ears glued to radio stations, introduces upcoming songbird, Rethabile pitso, on vocals. according to the two, the track, apart from making people dance, is meant to motivate house-lovers not to despair but keep swinging until something positive happens when chasing their dreams.

the humbled Miss pitso told the Weekender this was the first time she was singing professionally and with the reception she has received, says she sees it as the birth of her singing career.

On his part, Hunky D said he fell in love with pitso’s voice when they first met through a mutual friend. His mission is to set a benchmark of house-production in Lesotho, Hunky D added.

“My intention is to build Hunky D as a brand that will disperse to all the four corners of the world as house-music is a universal language.

“the ep will be a bliss of soulful deep house-tracks, featuring four songbirds Linkeng, Rethabile, Mimi G and Betty from the United Kingdom. i met Betty on social media (twitter) and it was through our conversation that i realised we both liked music which led to the recording of the track samuel, exchanging files through the internet until the project was complete.”

Hunky D also said he was looking forward to more international collaborations, adding his dream was to work with international producers such as Da Capo, Qubic DJ and Charma Muzik among others.

“i will perform all my compositions at the launch alongside a live band, and that will hopefully be followed by a national tour before i focus on the foreign market,” he said.
