Film producers to hold auditions
PRODUCERS of the upcoming film Sefaha will hold auditions for its 25-member cast at Speedy Complex in Maseru on 25 June 2016.
Written by Bofihla “Lilaphalapha” ‘Neko and Lira Halitsejoe Khasane, the action packed movie touches on such themes as child abuse and crime.
According to ‘Neko, the plot was based on real life stories and research on child abuse with some fictional elements to make it interesting.
“Sefaha will highlight the prob- lem of child abuse and how it can contribute or lead to crime,” he said, adding that the film will be shot by Countrywide Pictures and Lilaphalapha Productions.
“We used the stories of abuse we heard from different people and also did our research so that the storyline represented what is happening in society.”
‘Neko said they had been working on the script for nearly 10 years.
“The film has been in the pipeline since 2007, but could not materialise due to hiccups such as lack of finances. We don’t have any sponsors, so the auditions will only be held in Maseru since we cannot afford to tour the country,” he said.
“The auditions are for anyone who likes to act and are free of charge. Acting experience would be an advantage, but whoever meets the producers and directors’ expectations will land a role.”
‘Neko added that shooting would start “very soon” as some of the scenes are set in the winter season, while others would be shot in spring.
“We expect to release the film towards the end of the year. It will be between 45 and 50 minutes long,” he said.
