Man­hunt for cash-intran­sit heist sus­pects

A PO­LICE man­hunt is un­der­way for five sus­pects af­ter a cash-in-tran­sit ve­hi­cle was robbed of M123 000 soon af­ter col­lect­ing money from Sho­prite su­per­mar­ket chain’s Se­fika branch on 1 Au­gust 2016. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice deputy spokesper­son, Se­nior In­spec­tor Ler­ato Mot­seki, two sus­pects were al­ready in cus­tody, while five oth­ers were still at large.

“Po­lice ar­rested two men on 10 Au­gust aged 55 and 56 from Moshoeshoe II and Mot­se­mocha re­spec­tively, in con­nec­tion with this crime. With­out re­veal­ing too much of on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions, it is im­por­tant I em­pha­sise the two men ar­rested may not have been at the scene of the crime but were in­volved in the plan­ning,” Se­nior In­spec­tor Mot­seki said.

She also called on the pub­lic to as­sist the po­lice with any in­for­ma­tion on the where­abouts of the five sus­pects.
