Vardy warns Champ League opponents
LONDON — Leicester do not head into Europe until next month — but for Jamie Vardy ( pictured), the Champions League is already child’s play. The Premier League champions will take a step into the unknown next month with their first experience of the competition, with Jamie Vardy warning that Leicester will be fully prepared to continue the Foxes fairytale.
With a favourable draw against Club Brugges, FC Copenhagen and Porto, Leicester have a realistic chance of reaching the knockout stages and any scouts watching their destruction of Swansea will have flown home with trepidation.
“We’ll take anyone. We will always give it our all and it’s a new experience for us so we’re going to go out and enjoy it,” he said.
“They will obviously be doing their homework on us because they won’t have seen that much and we’ll be doing exactly the same.
“W e weren’t mean to win the league were we? We’re not mean to win it this yearar either. We’re just enjoying ourselves. We know we can hurt teams. People saw that last year so we’ll just keep going out on that pitch enjoying ourselves.”
Typically for Vardy, whose life has changed dramatically in the last 12 months, the draw on Thursday was eventful.
“I was sat there here watching it with the little one and nd she was wanting to play. It was lookok at the screen, play with the toys, look at the screen, play with the toysoys but it was a good draw and obviously viously everyone is looking forwardd to it.” — Telegraph
