IN response to “Alliance ‘worried’ over new SADC chair” ( Lesotho Times, 1 September 2016) how can the regional bloc let the controversial Swaziland King Mswati III

(pictured) who knows absolutely nothing about the will of the peoples nor practises democracy take over the reins of SADC?

I think SADC needs to reconsider its unjust policy of letting undemocratic countries such as Swaziland take full membership of the bloc or being involved in its decision-making processes.

That will likely compromise the progress made in ensuring countries like Lesotho abide by the democratic trajectory set by SADC.

Sempe Masupha.
