No letup in Likhopo’s woes
FORMER premier league soccer champions Likhopo’s woes continued after they were thrashed 1-4 by defending champions Lioli in a match played at Setsoto stadium on Sunday.
This was the eighth defeat in 10 matches for the Red Army which recently parted ways with coach Tšepo Hlojeng.
A brace from Tšoanelo Koetle and a goal apiece from Bushy Moletsane and Tumelo Khutlang gave Lioli a deserved victory while Lehlomela Ramabele weighed in with Likhopo’s face saver.
This was a second 4-1 victory for Tse Nala who also accounted for log leaders Kick4life by the same score line last weekend.
The match between Bantu and Sandawana in Quthing failed to produce goals. The result was however enough for the Mafeteng side to retain third position. Bantu also failed to score against Sky Battalion in midweek.
Sandawana are in tenth position.
Meanwhile, Matlama put behind them the midweek resignation of coach Moses Maliehe to thrash Rovers 3-0 at Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena.
Phafa Tšosane who missed the mid-week draw with Sandawana scored a brace while Motebang Sera scored the other goal for Bantu.
In another match played at LCS Ground, Makara Ntaitsane scored the only goal to hand LCS maximum points against basement club Butha Buthe Warriors.
LCS are now fourth after having beaten Likhopo in their previous match.
The last of the Sunday matches between LMPS and Sky Battalion at PTC Ground failed to produce goals.
In the Saturday matches, Kick4Life maintained pole position after Morapeli Lesoetsa scored the only goal to hand them a hard-fought win over LDF at LCS Ground. Linare also took another step towards conquering the instability that rocked the team a few months ago as they beat Liphakoe 2-1 to register their second victory on the trot.
