Central Bank rebrands website

THE Central Bank of Lesotho (CBL) this week launched a rebranded interactive website to facilitate communication between the bank and its strategic stakeholders on issues of mutual interest.

CBL Governor, Retšelisitsoe Matlanyane ( pictured), described the improved website as a “milestone” which would enable stakeholders to learn about the bank, its vision, mission, objectives as well as the execution of its statutory mandate.

“The new website will be a source of up-to-date information to our stakeholders, researchers and the public” Dr Matlanyane said at the Lehakoe Recreational Club in Maseru.

Dr Matlanyane said that the new website was developed with ease of access and usability in mind and the information was packaged in line with the core functions of the bank.

“The new website reflects our refreshed brand and corporate identity in this age where a website reflects on a life of an institution.”

The website is among several initiatives the bank is carrying out to actualise its 2015-2019 strategic plan.

The plan entails adaption to changing stakeholder needs, effective use of technology, engendering a culture of innovation and modernisation in service delivery.

Dr Matlanyane furthered that some of the relevant material for the ongoing implementation of the financial education and Literacy Project is available on the new website.

For his part, CBL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Ephraim Moremoholo, said the website is user friendly and easily accessible to the public.

“We will be the first to inform the population of recent developments in the bank rather than expect the public to be informed by other parties through social media,” Mr Moremoholo said.

He said the new website had clear sections on legislation and regulations thus saving time for the searcher.

He said that unlike the previous one, the website also provided stability core function of monitoring the financial system.
