OMEGA
THE SEAMASTER 1948 LIMITED EDITIONS
Between 1940 and 1945, the brand supplied more than 110,000 timepieces, highly valued by British airmen and sailors for their water-resistance and reliability in combat, to the British Ministry of Defence for use within the Royal Air Force and its other branches. Post-war, the brand responded to the demand for a timepiece with the same robust technology and reliable conception, but more aesthetically suited to civilian life. Thus, began the legacy of the Seamaster line, Omega’s first family of watches. For its 70th anniversary, the Seamaster 1948 comes in two versions ‒ Small Seconds and Central Second ‒ both fitted with an opaline silvery domed dial in a stainless steel case, alongside diamond polished 18K white gold hands, and an embossed vintage Ω. The caseback is laser engraved and lacquered by hand with a 70th Anniversary logo of a ChrisCraft boat and Gloster Meteor aircraft, the first jet plane used by the Royal Air Force.
