The dish on Microsoft’s RT Surface.
WE TEST OUT THE LATEST TABLET HYBRID IN TOWN! HERE’S OUR VERDICT.
THE GOOD STUFF Like most devices in the market these days, the Microsoft Surface RT runs on Windows 8 and comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office, which is a hassle-saver. The battery life is said to last up to eight hours but in reality it lasts a lot longer than that when we tried it out! With heavy video streaming, Internet usage, and other applications running, the RT was able to last between 12 to 15 hours, which is very impressive and a definite plus point for those who are looking at not just mobility but durability too. Another cool aspect? Its detachable touch cover keyboard. The Touch Cover is uber-light, uber-thin, and water-resistant, and comes in vibrant shades such as cyan and magenta. Switching between apps is a breeze; all you need to do is just swipe the screen to the left or right. And to close it, just pull it downwards. Easy! THE SETBACKS Despite consisting of VaporMG, which is supposed to be lighter than aluminium, the RT is definitely heavier than most tablet hybrids in the market. Also, if you’re not sitting at the right angle or are taller than most people, using the RT with its kickstand in place makes viewing rather difficult.
