IZAKAYA SHURAKU

CLEO (Malaysia) - - BITE ME -

WHAT YOU GET:

Frequented by business men after work, an izakaya is a Japanese drinking establishment that serves food to accompany the drinks. Shuraku holds true to this culture and makes it authentic with its dim lighting and décor complete with the background Japanese music. Ask staff for recommendations because the menu doesn’t quite do the food justice.

For starters, we recommend the daikon to potato age salad, greens with grated radish and house dressing topped with deep fried slivers of potato. Love salmon? The salmon to nasu tare is a good pick. Other must-haves? Saikoro steak, cubed beef sautéed in wafu sauce, and tori kimchi, chicken slices sautéed with homemade kimchi. Shuraku also serves skewers of meat and veggies grilled over charcoal.

The place to be for authentic Japanese cuisine.
