Chanel’s answer to radiant skin? Pearls!

If there is one thing that the House of Chanel is synonymous with, it is pearls. Coco Chanel herself was enamoured with it, using pearls in her designs as well as layering herself in strings and strings of it. She did once say, “A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls.” So it is no surprise that when it came to its latest whitening skincare range, Chanel would instantly turn to Mademoiselle Coco’s signature pearls for inspiration as well as the solution. After all, which women wouldn’t want skin that emulates the lustre and radiance of pearls?

So just how can you achieve skin’s pearly radiance with Chanel? It all goes to the science of melanin. When it comes to whitening, melanin is the enemy but skin cells are actually protected by it. In fact, when skin is low in melanin concentration, you are more at risk of getting sun burn and even skin cancer. However, its excessive production leads to dark spots and hyperpigmentation. So with Chanel ’s whitening range Le Blanc, the key is to find that perfect balance in melanin production – not too little and not too much for skin that is clear and glowing.

To achieve this, Chanel researchers looked to three clarity boosters (yes, pearls being one of them) to formulate Le Blanc. Working in tandem, they control hyperpigmentation, shield skin from other damaging factors while providing skin with the essential nourishing properties – all in the name of luminous skin!
