Humid Meydan Beach
A popular spot in the Dubai Marina district, Meydan features an elegant stretch of sand with stunning infinity pools, dining areas, gym, and spa. As it’s near a water source, the air in the area is muggy. “When humidity is high, skin uses its own natural humectants (natural moisturising factors) to pull water from the environment to its surface, to help keep it hydrated,” says Dr Mehmet Oz, cardiothoracic surgeon and television personality. However, the stickiness experienced in high humidity is caused by sweat accumulated on the skin that couldn’t evaporate because of the moisture in the air. This layer of sweat then mixes with bacteria and natural oils on the skin and forms a magnifying glass-like surface that may amplify sun damage on the skin.
