Quiet confidence and a charming personality ensure that this badass take his rightful place on the throne. Meet this year’s CLEO Most Eligible Bachelor. By Ruba Nackeeran

CLEO (Malaysia) - - @PLAY -

What made you join the competition?

I was hesitant at first because the interview date was right after Chinese New Year and I knew I wasn’t going to be in top form. I mean who wants to go on a diet during CNY? But I decided to give it a shot after my friends and family convinced me to do it.

What was your immediate reaction after you were announced the winner?

Honestly, I was at a loss for words. I was expecting to win, at the most, the Most Badass Bachelor subsidiary title because a lot of my friends voted for me in that category. When my name was announced, my mind went completely blank.

Apart from winning the title, what’s the best thing to come out from this competition?

Overall, I met 49 other great guys. We shared loads of jokes, and had tonnes of fun, and I hope to keep in touch with them. I’ve never had modelling experience and some of these Bachelors were giving me tips on how to pose. And it’s only been a few weeks since I’ve won but I find myself more open and willing to try out and experience new things.

What does being a badass mean to you and do you consider yourself one?

It doesn’t mean you’re a bad guy, it just means you have your own way of doing things. And that includes having a strong will and mind, being persistent, and not always playing by the rules. Being a party animal goes without saying! And as for being one, I’ve been told by many that that’s the first impression that I give off.

At the Bachelors shoot, you told us that you’re a huge fan of electronic dance music. What draws you to that genre of music?

I was introduced to the genre when I was about 16. Back then it wasn’t that wellknown in Malaysia so when I attended my first rave, I was completely blown away. It was different from the commercial music scene back then which focused on hip hop and R ‘n’ B. I just fell in love and I’ve been hooked ever since.

What are the best and worst traits you possess?

My best would be my confidence. I have complete faith in myself and I don’t think twice about speaking my mind. For example, when it comes to my career field which is sales, you’re often told that the customer is right. But I tell the customers they are wrong if I truly believe so. My worst trait is a hot temper but I’ve mellowed down a lot these days.

So you’re a car dealer. What’s your favourite car?

My favourite car is the Maserati GTS. It’s owned by the same company that produces Ferrari but I think it looks a whole lot finer than a Ferrari.

Do you think good boys or bad boys finish last?

It depends on how fast you run! I don’t think good guys finish last, at least not all the time.

If you could take any two people in this world out for dinner, who would they be and why?

Lauren Curtis. She’s an Australian YouTube make-up artist whose profile popped up on my Facebook suggestions. I checked out her videos and I have to say

First impressions are always important so I’d say the way a woman grooms and presents herself is what attracts me the most, initially.

she’s not only pretty but really funny, too! So I’d love to take her to dinner and get to know her better. The second person would be my mum – simply because it’s been a while since I took her out and told her I love her.

Share one of your short term and long term goals with us.

A short-term goal would be discovering how far I can go in the modelling industry. My long term goal has to be settling down with the woman of my dreams. I’m not getting any younger and I feel like I’m finally ready to start a family. Career wise, I’d like to give event planning a go.

If you could become a woman for one day, what would you do the whole day?

I’d hit the beauty and health spa. Get a manipedi and a full body massage done. I’ll also check men out and even see if I can score myself a date or three ( Laughs).

What’s a turn on and turn off for you?

Confidence in a woman turns me on. I met this girl who wasn’t all that pretty but she walked up to me and asked if I was using Bleu de Chanel perfume and that confidence caught my attention. As for turn offs, I’d say someone who deliberately makes bad life choices.

Who is your celebrity crush?

Rachel McAdams

Sex with Rachel McAdams or an allexpenses-paid trip to Tomorrowland?

This is a tough one! How can you put a man in such a position? You know what? I’m going to have to go with Tomorrowland because it’s a dream to attend such a huge EDM festival. That would be wicked!
