When hiring... I look for the whole package. My employees are smart, hardworking, and driven.
I look for extra skills like... online
experience. Right now it’s all about digital so it helps when employees come in with a strong digital background. An education is also vital; I would never hire anyone without a degree.
Who makes the cut? As Tom Ford said, “Only hire people you want to have dinner with.” If I don’t want to sit through a meal or have a coffee with the person I’m interviewing, then I don’t want them working for my agency.
I value work ethic... but I also want people with great personalities at my agency. My employees need to work in a similar mindset and be on the same page as each other.
I am put off by... someone who’s not well presented. In meetings you should be dressed well, and wearing make-up and heels never hurts. Also it’s so important to be respectful. There is nothing worse than someone who has a total disregard for others.
My best tip is... if you’re not giving 110 per cent, you won’t succeed.
