When hir­ing... I look for the whole pack­age. My em­ploy­ees are smart, hard­work­ing, and driven.

I look for ex­tra skills like... on­line

ex­pe­ri­ence. Right now it’s all about dig­i­tal so it helps when em­ploy­ees come in with a strong dig­i­tal back­ground. An ed­u­ca­tion is also vi­tal; I would never hire any­one with­out a de­gree.

Who makes the cut? As Tom Ford said, “Only hire peo­ple you want to have din­ner with.” If I don’t want to sit through a meal or have a cof­fee with the person I’m in­ter­view­ing, then I don’t want them work­ing for my agency.

I value work ethic... but I also want peo­ple with great per­son­al­i­ties at my agency. My em­ploy­ees need to work in a sim­i­lar mind­set and be on the same page as each other.

I am put off by... some­one who’s not well pre­sented. In meet­ings you should be dressed well, and wear­ing make-up and heels never hurts. Also it’s so im­por­tant to be re­spect­ful. There is noth­ing worse than some­one who has a to­tal dis­re­gard for oth­ers.

My best tip is... if you’re not giv­ing 110 per cent, you won’t suc­ceed.
