Navy Recruiter

Amy McMahon Defence Force recruiter Amy says a strong work ethic and punctuality are a must.

CLEO (Malaysia) - - COVER STORY -

Recruits should have... motivation, self-discipline, professionalism, fitness, confidence, and team experience.

To make it, you must have... good presentation, confidence, and a solid understanding of the service.

Someone can impress me with... punctuality! In addition, a desire and ability to articulate why they want a career in the Defence Force.

Personality or work ethic? Definitely work ethic. There's no right or wrong personality. Everyone is different, however people don't just pick up a good work ethic overnight. The best worker I've encountered... had initiative and a lot of discipline.

My advice is... never underestimate your own ability. There's nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it. Preparation is key to success.
