It’s All About The Money
Lela shares with us tips on living on the road.
Need A Place To Stay? Just Ask.
“I found places to stay via couchsurfing.com during my time in the US. I basically stayed with strangers. I even used Instagram to meet and hang out with other locals by searching for geotags and hashtags. At the end of the day, I simply asked politely if I could crash at their place.”
Find Odd Jobs While You Travel
“Some long-term travellers I know hold part-time jobs (such as teaching English, writing, or designing) to make ends meet. They don’t need a permanent office to do their work.
Just a laptop, electricity, and access to the Internet. My best friend even did odd jobs like waiting tables to buy a ticket back home.”
What About Loans And Bills?
“Some travellers I know saved up a lump sum to pay off everything before they leave. That’s the best way to travel without worry. Right now, I still need money to pay off my education loan, insurance, and more travel plans, so I’m still working to save up.”
