On being a Hollywood hippie and taking J.Law’s advice

CLEO (Malaysia) - - FRONT PAGE -

In a day and age where young Hollywood is making headlines for tantrums rather than talent, one young star in particular stands out and forces you take notice of her better qualities. This star is no other than Shailene Woodley. Starting out as an actress at age five, Woodley has worked her way up the ranks to becoming one of Tinseltown’s biggest names to look out for. In 2014 alone, Woodley has made herself a household name by headlining in two of the year’s biggest films, Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars. Despite her fame and success, Woodley insists on staying grounded. She tries not to wear make-up, insists on wearing worn clothes, unless it’s a red carpet event where she’s required to wear designer outfits, doesn’t own a mobile phone, and lives as naturally and unobtrusively in nature as she can. She even takes hikes into mountains to collect water from springs for daily use. In this interview, Shailene talks about confronting her fears, not wanting fans for herself, and her daily meditation.
