This old-fash­ioned favourite is mak­ing a come­back, thanks to whisky be­ing the tip­ple of choice with top bar­tenders. This cock­tail can also be served warm. Just serve the cock­tail with­out the tea, and pop the teapot next to your drinks stand so your guests can top up as they go.

You’ll need:

1 whisky

2 tbsp honey

Juice of ½ lemon

4 parts Earl Grey tea

Cin­na­mon quills

1 lemon, cut into slices

To make:

1 Mix whisky, honey and lemon juice.

2 Top with Earl Grey tea.

3 Serve with a cin­na­mon quill and lemon ring in each mug.
