CLEO (Malaysia) - - LOVE & SEX SPECIAL -

“I’d only had boyfriends prior to Elise* and was going through a rough time before I met her. We were friends at first, but the relationship grew into something more when I started relying on her for emotional support. Just like a first kiss, it was a little awkward but I never felt uncomfortable or questioned it. I was attracted to her. I’m affectionate by nature so taking things further was just an extension of that friendship. When I started to announce the relationship to family and friends, there was overwhelming support for the most part, but it wasn’t long before questions about my sexual orientation came up. ‘So you’re a lesbian, right?’ friends would ask. People wanted answers, but I didn’t know what to tell them. I found it impossible to put a label on it. Since that first experience, I’ve had girlfriends and boyfriends. I’m now engaged to a man who understands my past, and respects and loves me regardless. I’ll never regret going with my gut feeling. You can’t choose who you fall in love with.”
