Plump It Up

CLEO (Malaysia) - - COVER STORY -

At the heart of the new Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss is a revolutionary formula. Containing a core chockfull of hyaluronic acid spheres that capture and retain surrounding water, it quenches lips, leaving them full and lastingly moisturised. And at the base of this surprisingly fluid formula, mirror-shine stretch oils smooth over the lips like a featherweight film. The result is a spectacular glossy effect so fine, so supple and light you almost forget it’s there. That hairstuck-to-your-mouth problem too often associated with older formulas? Gone, even with the wind. If pillowy Kylie Jenner lips are what you insist upon, you can drop the filler injections, too. “It’s an exciting time for make-up. There’s a real synergy between skincare and cosmetics now, allowing us to redefine everyone’s ideal product. Ultra-Gloss delivers 15 per cent more volume upon application, and after four weeks of usage, you’ll find your lips 10 per cent plumper,” he promises. “You don’t want to look like you fell into a pot of gloss; balance is key,” he says. “Pairing gloss with dewy skin is going to be a bit much. But offsetting that high shine with luminous velvet matte skin is what’s going to keep your look controlled, sophisticated and most importantly, chic.” And just like that, my go-to fluoro matte lip became flat and fussy, and that much needed change came in the form of a fresh pop of gloss. Having hopped back on the wand wagon for a month now, I can’t believe how long it took me to reach full circle. Today’s gloss is approachable and refined, with unprecedented shine. And if it’s approved by Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian, well, then, in the words of Lil ’ Mama, it’s all about “lovin’ lip gloss universal ” – colour me converted.
