If you find your­self go­ing over and over that fight with your boyfriend or weird look your boss gave you, your anx­i­ety could be some­thing that is adding to your sleep stres­sors. “Set aside a ‘worry time’ dur­ing the day,” ad­vises Dr Barnes. “Pick half an hour to sit qui­etly with­out be­ing dis­turbed. Dur­ing this time, go through all of your wor­ries and con­cerns.” First write it all down, then cre­ate a plan of ac­tion and get as much out of your head as pos­si­ble. “Al­though you may still start to worry about th­ese things come bed­time, you should be able to put th­ese thoughts aside quickly,” Dr Barnes points out.
