Last year, Gisele starred in a Chanel No 5 cam­paign video which was di­rected by renowned Aus­tralian di­rec­tor Baz Luhrmann (of and fame). Clips of the ad quickly ap­peared on­line, the most iconic of which showed Gisele sport­ing a black Chanel wet­suit — look­ing to­tally on point even after a day in the sun and surf. On her role in this multi-mil­lion dol­lar cam­paign, Gisele says: “Some­times I feel that ad­verts like this can make women feel so dis­tant. They’re so glam­orous and so unattain­able and so as­pi­ra­tional that you can­not touch them, in a way. They are kind of a dream. “How­ever, the idea was to show­case the mod­ern woman and all that she is, with her strug­gles and her vul­ner­a­bil­ity. And, yes, she’s cer­tainly glam­orous. She’s pow­er­ful and suc­cess­ful — but she’s also strug­gling.”
