ercedes Benz has upgraded the A250 with more power, greater efficiency and more equipment. With a car of this calibre, a test drive along the LDP highway just won’t cut it. To maximise its potential, #teamCLEO took it out for a quick spin … all the way to Kuala Terengganu. The A250’s exceptional performance and handling really blurs the line between an upper-hand hot hatch and a luxury car. What’s for sure is that this poised machine’s great for city driving, for the reverse camera, Active Parking Assist, and the newly upgraded suspension make the experience just as smooth. Switch on the “Comfort” setting, and you’ll immediately feel a less clunky transmission, with more compliant transitions as you weave in and out of the local traffic.

The striking lines and dynamically curved surface don’t just characterise the exterior of the A250. The seats are ergonomically shaped to give good support without being overly aggressive. Although it’s more than suited to comfortably fit four people, some compromise is required if the people in the back have legs for days. But how does the A250 fare in an already overcrowded hatchback market? For one, the chassis dynamics and overall design will undoubtedly make heads turn, and for the performance it promises? It’s worth it.

... driving to our favourite spots were a breeze!
