Silk y pastels are just what you need to style up your work game

W“Women have been portrayed as intuitive and compassionate, but don’t assume we’re not made for leadership.” — Hasanah Akhir, Program Officer for Women’s Centre For Change

hat makes a person standout—Isit just the quality of their work? Having met and worked with the CLEO Hot Shots this year, who are talented young women reshaping what we think of careers, I realised that their unique nuances are what make them true inspirations. Like how the gentle timbre of Ananti Rajasingam’s voice helps make her the real fighter for children and their rights. The sweet smile sand bubbly energy of Juanita Ramayah and Shikin Gomez? Exactly what makes them our country’ s most coveted talents. The quiet confidence of Heidy Quah, a recipient of a Queen’s Young Leader Award for her work with refugees, and the brightness and positivity that shone out of Malisse Tan as she spoke about battling cancer as a new mum—it’ s those same strengths that have made them role models to so many.

CLEO Hot Shots isin its fourth year now, and we cannot be prouder to showcase these 30 faces as proof that the Malaysian woman can be anything, and that anyone can rise above any challenge. Turn to page 80 to meet them.
