30, Film­maker Tell us what you’ re up to now. I work on fic­tion and non­fic­tion films, and right now I’ m ex­plor­ing my Bor­neo iden­tity. Specif­i­cally, my Dusun her­itage.

What was your most sat­is­fy­ing mo­ment? Last year, we pre­miered Big Sto­ries “Bongkud- Na­maus” ( a col­lec­tion of Bongkud lo­cal film son their Du sun her­itage) to 1,000 peo­ple at a“kam­pung fes­ti­val ”. It was such a mov­ing ex­pe­ri­ence. What’s the most em­pow­er­ing thing about your craft? Asa story teller, I’ m aware of how power struc­tures shift de­pend­ing on how sto­ries are told. Hu­mans are al­ways strug­gling for power. Where do you get in­spired? Sabah be­cause of the land­scape and sto­ries. I have a strong con­nec­tion with the l and, mythol­ogy and peo­ple.
