”I don’t have any lucky charms because I have the most powerful tool — my confidence.” — Shahmalarani
19, National Karate Athlete How did your passion become a career? I’ ve been doing this sport since I was 12. It turned into a career when I realised what I could achieve in this sport and that I had my coaches believing in me. What is your pr e-tournament routine? It’ s not just limited to a warm-up; it’ s also how well-prepared I am before the competition season; and how focused and determined I am that day. Mental preparation is always the most important, then comes the physical. The most important self-discovery you’ve had this year? That I am capable of doing many things that challenges most of my male career par t ners too. Any habits you have that set up success ever y day? The most important habit will always be discipline. Be persistent with your passion, never give up, and you will find success.
