It’s a human rights lawyers’ organisation that seeks to promote human rights and defend human rights defenders. What drove you to do human rights work? I was inspired to work in human rights after an internship in2007—i twas aney e-opening time in Malaysia with the first Ber si hand Hindraf protests, and the Malaysian Bar’ s Lawyers Walk f or Justice. What is the most powerful thing about doing what you do? Helping to defend the human right defender sand allowing them to continue their work, whether it’ s about free and fair elections, justice, or fundamental freedoms. What drive you? The strength , braver y and resilience of my colleagues, activists and Malaysian sin striving for a better nation. One thing the industry has taught you? Confidence and self-respect—being in the legal profession and activism has armed me with both.
