WHY GO

-

Satisfy your hankering for vintage food in a contemporary ambience here with the extensive menu offering tasty treats.

Nam Heong made its name with its famous chicken rice and Ipoh chicken hor fun (flat rice noodles). Unsurprisingly, these are must order items here. The non-roasted chicken comes lying on a bed of bean sprouts and the requisite slices of fresh cucumbers, with a side of gizzard and liver slices. The chicken skin sports an eye-pleasing yellowy sheen and its meat is firm and tasty, and goes very well with the fragrant butter rice and homemade chilli dip.

The chicken hor fun comes with broth that is wholesome, sufficiently sweet and provides the perfect base for the silky smooth hor fun and the shredded chicken and prawns. This is a dish that one shouldn’t be ashamed to slurp down noisily!

No meal here would be complete without having a go at some light bites like the toast, soft-boiled eggs, egg on toast and dim sum. Desserts-wise, the signature egg tarts are a no-brainer. The surface is smooth and glistens like a pond of gold encased within a bed of flaky pastry. Take a bite into it and the firm surface gives way to an eggy and delightfully creamy custard filling.
