Malaysians Favour Holidays in Asia says hotels.com
Malaysian travellers continue to favour holiday destinations within Asia with Thailand remaining as the most frequented country by Malaysians in the first half of 2016. According to hotel booking website, hotels.com, the top destinations in Thailand were Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai & Krabi. This was followed by Indonesia where Jakarta was the most visited city by both leisure and business travellers and Japan coming in as the third country most frequented by Malaysians.
“Despite the fluctuation of hotel prices across Asia, we are seeing many new hotels that are able to offer quality rooms to meet the demands of Malaysians. As such, this growth in new hotels and the current price levels offer great value to travellers. Wanderlust Malaysians are also able to find plenty of getaway options across the region now,” shared Regional Marketing Director Jessica Chuang of Hotels.com. A closer look within Malaysia also showed that Sabah has emerged as the most popular destination globally within the country while Sarawak has become the most visited destination by Malaysians.
