JNTO OPENS 17TH OF­FICE OVER­SEAS IN KUALA LUMPUR

The Ja­panese Na­tional Tourism Or­gan­i­sa­tion (JNTO) has an­nounced the open­ing of its over­seas of­fice in Kuala Lumpur to fur­ther en­hance pro­mo­tional ini­tia­tives for in­bound vis­its to Ja­pan in Malaysia. The 17th over­seas of­fice es­tab­lished in Malaysia will as­sist in ef­forts to­ward achieve­ment of the Ja­panese Gov­ern­ment’s ob­jec­tive of 40 mil­lion an­nual over­seas vis­i­tors to the coun­try by 2020. The es­tab­lish­ment of the Kuala Lumpur of­fice co­in­cides with the 60th an­niver­sary of the es­tab­lish­ment of Malaysia-ja­pan Diplo­matic re­la­tions. Last year, the num­ber of Malaysian vis­i­tors to Ja­pan reached a record high of 394,200 vis­i­tors, a 29.1% in­crease from the pre­vi­ous year. www.jnto.org.my
