STUDIO CITY

To fully experience all that Macao has to offer, one must journey to its highest point in order to view the fullness the city has to offer and nowhere is it better for you to be able to view the entirety of Macao than from the top of the

Golden Reel Ride located at Studio City, the world’s first figure eight-ferris wheel which rises some 130 metres into the air.

Atop the ride, the entire world of Macao appears unhindered from its spacious 17 steampunk-themed cabins accommodating up to 10 people each. The ride is said to be inspired by a Hollywood-style tale of two flaming asteroids careering through the building’s main façade. On days with a clear view, guests atop the ride can experience some spectacular views of the Cotai strip, the city and the bay area. Other eye-catching sights atop the ride include the luxurious swimming pools of the Cotai Hotels, Studio City’s spaciously designed gardens and the gigantic angel-like statues in front of Studio City.

As far as attractions in Studio City goes, to miss the spectacular ride of the heartpumping, adrenaline inducing, Batman: Arkham City inspired Dark Flight attraction is possibly akin to missing the lottery itself. One cannot stress how utterly amazing this fantasy 4D simulation ride is. Fans of the Arkham City series should certainly not miss this immersive experience which plunges audiences into Batman’s world and reveals the most innovative projects Wayne Enterprises is currently embarked on. The 4D flight simulation ride will also feature the latest flight simulation technologies and unmatched visual graphics which will provide audiences the impression that they are fighting alongside the Caped Crusader in Wayne Enterprise’s latest flying prototype, the Bat Plane. No hero saga is complete without its list of villains which in this case includes The Joker, Bane, Harvey Quinn, Poison Ivy and Two Face as the Caped Crusader races through the city of Gotham alongside the Bat Plane in attempts to prevent further chaos in Gotham. Audiences can expect a variety of multisensory special effects as the Bat Plane journeys through hidden sewers, the skyline of Gotham city, and special attacks from the mentioned villains. In addition to these two attractions, Studio City also offers two other attractions which include The House of Magic and the Warner Bros. Fun Zone. Tickets to these attractions can be found at www.studiocity-macao.com

COTAI SANDS THEATRE

Mention the “Journey to the West” and every true-blooded Chinese would tell you that it is perhaps the greatest tale of ancient Chinese mythology and the tie up between Cotai Sands Theatre and Hua Yang Group in bringing this magnificent masterpiece to life is certainly nothing short of epic.

Utilising the most advanced 3D effects, LED screen projections, video mapping and full surround sound, the epic tale of the Monkey King is brought to life through creative lighting effects, graceful choreography, sonorous music and spectacular colourful costumes.

Based on the original works of the “Journey to the West” epic and further mingled with other dramatic elements, the Monkey King tale brings audiences across a myriad of locations, switching in between the human and the fairy world, demonic domains, the underwater lair of the Sea King and the heavenly kingdom of the Jade Emperor and Buddha.

Audiences familiar with the Chinese epic will be delighted to find familiar characters such as Xuan Zang, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing embarking on the epic journey west to retrieve the sacred scriptures of the Buddha.

TOP AND BELOW Batman from the Arkham City franchise makes a killer appearance.
