Mention the “Journey to the West” and every true-blooded Chinese would tell you that it is perhaps the greatest tale of ancient Chinese mythology and the tie up between Cotai Sands Theatre and Hua Yang Group in bringing this magnificent masterpiece to life is certainly nothing short of epic.
Utilising the most advanced 3D effects, LED screen projections, video mapping and full surround sound, the epic tale of the Monkey King is brought to life through creative lighting effects, graceful choreography, sonorous music and spectacular colourful costumes.
Based on the original works of the “Journey to the West” epic and further mingled with other dramatic elements, the Monkey King tale brings audiences across a myriad of locations, switching in between the human and the fairy world, demonic domains, the underwater lair of the Sea King and the heavenly kingdom of the Jade Emperor and Buddha.
Audiences familiar with the Chinese epic will be delighted to find familiar characters such as Xuan Zang, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing embarking on the epic journey west to retrieve the sacred scriptures of the Buddha.
