THE LUX­URY BRAND be­gan by mak­ing pens, and later, leather ac­ces­sories. It was only in this new mil­len­nium that they de­cided to en­ter the lu­cra­tive watch­mak­ing arena. Their first foray into high-end watches was their Nicolas Rieussec col­lec­tion of chrono­graphs, named af­ter the fa­ther of the com­pli­ca­tion. It was not un­til a few years ago that they moved the game for­ward and started tak­ing watch­mak­ing se­ri­ously by mak­ing full use of their great fa­cil­i­ties in Villeret. Last year, Mont­blanc in­tro­duced the Her­itage range of more tech­ni­cally ad­vanced time­pieces. They have ded­i­cated the 2015 col­lec­tion to the Age of Ex­plo­ration and 15th cen­tury Por­tuguese ex­plorer, Vasco da Gama.

This year’s Villeret Col­lec­tion joined its other sib­lings at SIHH by pre­sent­ing an ex­tra­or­di­nary time­piece to cel­e­brate the 15th cen­tury Por­tuguese ex­plorer Vasco da Gama.
