If you think back to earlier this year, you may have come across plenty of social media and perhaps the odd print about something called Pepsi watches. And I’m assuming that you’re not into watches unless you want to buy one here. Indeed, such was the uproar when sister brands Rolex and Tudor released their GMT timepieces. This is a watch that easily gives a visual representation of day and night time zones. With the zone colours on the bezel being a vintage red and greyish blue, the Pepsi-mania was born. Aside from the hoopla, the Tudor Black Bay GMT is a tremendously well-made timepiece. Without adding much heft from the original Black Bay, the in-house MT5652 Cosc-certified movement gives you four hands on the dial and 70-hour of power reserve in the back. It also comes with either a fabric, leather or bracelet strap in vintage styles; it’s this last point that makes Malaysian buyers pause for a beat before taking the plunge. This watch does the ‘new-old’ concept without looking ‘old-old’ which is fantastic, but you’ll need to see it for yourself.
