Stu­dents Cher Yee Xin, An­gelique Thum and Utano Goda of Prince of Wales Is­land In­ter­na­tional School made their school proud when they re­ceived awards for Out­stand­ing Artis­tic De­vel­op­ment and Out­stand­ing Dance Artistry at the Bal­let West Ex­change Pro­gramme held in Scot­land re­cently. The pro­gramme is a part­ner­ship be­tween Di­rect Academia In­ter­na­tional (DAI) and Bal­let West UK, which pro­duces par­tic­i­pants who reg­u­larly win medals at The Genée In­ter­na­tional Bal­let Com­pe­ti­tion and men­tor dancers who go on to per­form with dance com­pa­nies in­ter­na­tion­ally.

WHERE IT ALL BE­GAN

Alum­nus, Ko­nan Tanaka, re­cently re­turned to Gar­den In­ter­na­tional School to per­form a pi­ano recital, much to the de­light of the school’s cur­rent stu­dents, par­ents and for­mer school mates. The Ja­panese pi­anist be­gan her mu­si­cal jour­ney at Gar­den In­ter­na­tional School where she took A-level Mu­sic. Ko­nan has since per­formed in nu­mer­ous con­certs both na­tion­ally and in­ter­na­tion­ally. She will be per­form­ing at the Gala Pi­ano All-nighter, held at the Birm­ing­ham Town Hall in March, and the Con­ser­va­toire Cham­ber Mu­sic Fes­ti­val in June.
