MUTIARA TAMAN NEGARA
Taman Negara is one of Malaysia’s top travel destinations and covers over 4,300 square kilometres of virgin jungle. It is home to one of the oldest deciduous rainforest in the world at approximately 130 million years old. The park is spread over three states – Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan – with the Mutiara Taman Negara Resort located in Pahang. Formerly known as the King George V National Park, it was renamed Taman Negara (roughly translated as ‘national park’ in Malay) after the country gained independence in 1957.
Accommodation at this resort comprises a variety of family rooms which are also ideal for groups, bungalows, chalets and if you’re feeling par ticularly adventurous, tents! Visitors come here to experience the incredible tropical jungle and the resort has taken steps to ensure there’s as little impact on its surrounds as possible, including having dim lighting and utilising natural and biodegradable materials.
