STYLEPHILE: ELEGANCE WITH AN EDGE
ARISSA IDRIS’S STYLE IS WHAT WE CALL #FASHIONGOALS, ESPECIALLY THE WAY SHE FLAUNTS HER RUGGED LOOK. TAKE HEED FROM THIS STUDENT AS SHE TEACHES US HOW TO OWN OUR STYLE AND EMBRACE OUR INDIVIDUALITY THE WAY SHE DOES.
Embrace your individuality and own what you’ve got, just like Arissa Idris.
ARISSA IDRIS, 22 Student
In Arissa’s books, fashion is defined as cheering your own style without any hesitation, and that’s exactly how she’s able to pull off different rugged looks every day. “As I was growing up, I remember seeing my mum in her stylish outfits and one of them was this beautiful dress – that’s when I fell in love with styling and decided to explore it,” shares Arissa. “She was my go-to source of inspiration over the years and that made me discover my personal style.”
Most times, Arissa will go by the theme of the event that she’s attending or her mood of the day to create her looks. On lazy days, you’ll see her in comfy, hassle-free pieces – a cropped top, jeans and her trusted pair of pointed-toe heels. Three things to keep in mind about her style preferences – she prefers pastels over neon, vintage over modern, and plain pieces over printed ones. She also loves berets and smallframed vintage shades, and TBH, she slays in them!
Currently, Arissa is in the midst of completing her degree in PR and Advertising but admits that her ultimate passion lies in event management, especially fashion-related ones. “I fell in love with Rico Rinaldi’s Summeraya 2018 fashion show. Everything from his latest collection to the show location was amazing. I’d love to be the brains behind an event as cool as this, and maybe even be among those who will hit the local fashion scene one day,” she says.
