Fans who are look­ing for­ward to step into the shoes of Ger­alt of Rivia once more will have to wait a lit­tle longer as de­vel­oper CD Pro­jekt RED has pushed back the re­lease date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to May 2015. This marks the sec­ond de­lay for the open-world RPG, which missed its Au­tumn 2014 re­lease win­dow.

Ac­cord­ing to Adam Kicin­ski, who serves as a board mem­ber of CD Pro­jekt Red, the Fe­bru­ary 2015 re­lease date was set too early, and that the de­vel­oper is wary of “badly pol­ished games on next-gen plat­forms”, no doubt brought on by the re­cent string of trou­bled triple-A ti­tles, such

In­ter­est­ingly, CD Pro­jekt co-founder Marcin Iwin­ski was pre­vi­ously quoted as say­ing that there would be “no more de­lays” to the game dur­ing the an­nounce­ment of the first de­lay. The gam­ing com­mu­nity were mostly un­der­stand­ing. Af­ter all, the de­vel­oper is of­fer­ing all 16 planned DLCs for free. “We don’t want to re­lease the game with bugs that un­der­mine the game­play,” added Kicin­ski.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to re­lease on May 19, 2015 for PC, PlaySta­tion 4, and Xbox One.
