WHAT THE PS4 DID RIGHT

GAX (Malaysia) - - FEATURE -

SHARE PLAY – This is one of the best ideas ever implemented in the world of gaming. With Share Play, all you need is an active Internet connection, and you can have a friend help you with a stage you are struggling to beat, or play your friend’s game on his PS4 before you decide if you want a copy of the game for yourself. All this is possible without either of you leaving the comforts of your own homes.

MP3 USB PLAYBACK – While it remains a mystery why we can’t just store music in the machine like we could with the PS3, at least we do have the additional feature of being able to listen to your tracks while you game.

3D BLU-RAY SUPPORT – Ever since the first PlayStation, Sony’s consoles have always been able to double as a movie player, supporting the latest disc format of the day. This tradition is kept with the PS4, as it is able to play 3D Blu-ray Disc movies, albeit after a software update.

PS4 REMOTE PLAY – Another brilliant idea brought to practice. Who wouldn’t appreciate being able to continue your game while the TV is being occupied by someone else? However, to get this to work, you do need a PS Vita or a mobile device that supports PS4 Remote Play, most notably the Sony Xperia Z3 series. INDIE PLATFORM – Once upon a time, publishing your own game if you weren’t part of a big company was tough. And it still is, but much less so. Sony is also kind enough to facilitate indie game development with its myriad of tools.

THEMES AND FACEPLATES – Again, no idea why the former was not implemented from the start, but the idea of faceplates does mean that there are ways to make your console look different, aside from buying limited edition bundles.
