Daydreaming, made real
Google's Daydream View does VR gaming and more.
Virtual reality is fast becoming a mainstream form of entertainment, and entering the fray is Google with the Daydream View. This device, which comprises a headset and controller, will run VR with the use of compatible Android phones, the rst of which are the Pixel and Pixel XL. Google has announced that there will be more than 50 Daydream apps released this year, with hundreds more to come. Among the most high pro le apps that will be available on this platform include a sequel to CCP's turret shooter that will likely be the most successful VR game to date.
Another exciting game that has been announced for Daydream View is a Harry
Potter game that's based on the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find
Them movie. The game will apparently allow you to use the controller as a wand to cast spells (‘Expecto Patronum!’). In addition, Daydream View will be compatible with VR apps from the likes of HBO, Hulu, and Net ix. Needless to say, Google Maps will also be part of the list, along with a VR version of Street View. The Daydream View is priced at US$79 (approx. RM327).
