Google's Day­dream View does VR gam­ing and more.

Vir­tual re­al­ity is fast be­com­ing a main­stream form of en­ter­tain­ment, and en­ter­ing the fray is Google with the Day­dream View. This de­vice, which com­prises a head­set and con­troller, will run VR with the use of com­pat­i­ble An­droid phones, the rst of which are the Pixel and Pixel XL. Google has an­nounced that there will be more than 50 Day­dream apps re­leased this year, with hun­dreds more to come. Among the most high pro le apps that will be avail­able on this plat­form in­clude a se­quel to CCP's tur­ret shooter that will likely be the most suc­cess­ful VR game to date.

Pot­ter game that's based on the up­com­ing Fan­tas­tic Beasts and Where to Find

Them movie. The game will ap­par­ently al­low you to use the con­troller as a wand to cast spells (‘Ex­pecto Pa­tronum!’). In ad­di­tion, Day­dream View will be com­pat­i­ble with VR apps from the likes of HBO, Hulu, and Net ix. Need­less to say, Google Maps will also be part of the list, along with a VR ver­sion of Street View. The Day­dream View is priced at US$79 (ap­prox. RM327).
