Nintendo unveils new Yellow joy con and AA battery pack
The Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch will soon be available in a shade of Neon Yellow, in case you thought the existing Neon Red and Blue colors weren’t eye-catching enough. Nintendo announced the Neon Yellow Joy-Con controllers during its recent Nintendo Direct livestream, alongside a battery pack accessory for the Joy-Con. Nintendo didn’t explicitly state how much additional battery life the battery pack will provide, but did say that it will be powered by AA batteries. Apart from doubling as a grip, we’re not entirely sure if the battery pack is actually necessary, though, as the Joy-Cons themselves have a rather substantial battery life of up to 20 hours. What’s more, they will only need to depend on their integrated battery when they aren’t physically attached to the Switch – which safe to say isn’t going to be all that long. No word on how much the Neon Yellow Joy-Cons and the battery pack accessory will cost outside of Japan, but you can get your hands on them starting June 16, 2017.
