Sin­ga­pore’s cen­tral busi­ness dis­trict (CBD) in­vites a rel­a­tively new con­tender to its im­pec­ca­ble line-up of rooftop restau­rants and bars. Artemis is essen­tially a fu­sion restau­rant that pri­mar­ily bases its menu on con­tem­po­rary pan-Mediter­ranean grills to­gether with flavours from coastal Spain, South­ern France, Italy and Greece and even some lo­cal touches. Parked on the 40th floor of the city’s lat­est green land­mark Cap­i­taGreen build­ing, Artemis pro­vides an ex­quis­ite sus­tain­ably sourced meal paired with the splen­did views of the city’s skyline. The stylish and unique des­ti­na­tion for rooftop din­ing and drinks is cur­rently open for lunch on week­days, and din­ner Mon­day to Saturday nights.

We have given the din­ner menu a try and our per­sonal favourite is the Mey Se­lec­tion Grass-Fed Black An­gus Ten­der­loin made with 200g of dry-aged, potato puree, caramelised pearl onions and red wine jus that sim­ply melts in your mouth (if you or­der your steak medium rare). Other no­table dishes are the Alaskan king crab salad and

White Chervil Root un­der the ap­pe­tiser cat­e­gory. The for­mer gives off a fresh and tangy vibe with grilled pi­mento pep­pers, av­o­cado and tomato petals to com­ple­ment the chunky crab meat while the lat­ter has a creamy taste that com­bines the squash gnocchi, comic cheese, egg yolk and black truf­fle ad­mirably.

The out­door rooftop bar is per­fect for happy hours from 3 to 7pm on week­days, great for client meet­ing or a lit­tle break from the mo­not­o­nous of­fice hours. Try out the 350-bin list of wines, the new­est ad­di­tions be­ing from Slove­nia, In­dia and Lebanon or sim­ply sip a G&T while ad­mir­ing the Ma­rina Bay skyline – scenic no mat­ter what time of the day your visit is.
