Singapore’s central business district (CBD) invites a relatively new contender to its impeccable line-up of rooftop restaurants and bars. Artemis is essentially a fusion restaurant that primarily bases its menu on contemporary pan-Mediterranean grills together with flavours from coastal Spain, Southern France, Italy and Greece and even some local touches. Parked on the 40th floor of the city’s latest green landmark CapitaGreen building, Artemis provides an exquisite sustainably sourced meal paired with the splendid views of the city’s skyline. The stylish and unique destination for rooftop dining and drinks is currently open for lunch on weekdays, and dinner Monday to Saturday nights.
We have given the dinner menu a try and our personal favourite is the Mey Selection Grass-Fed Black Angus Tenderloin made with 200g of dry-aged, potato puree, caramelised pearl onions and red wine jus that simply melts in your mouth (if you order your steak medium rare). Other notable dishes are the Alaskan king crab salad and
White Chervil Root under the appetiser category. The former gives off a fresh and tangy vibe with grilled pimento peppers, avocado and tomato petals to complement the chunky crab meat while the latter has a creamy taste that combines the squash gnocchi, comic cheese, egg yolk and black truffle admirably.
The outdoor rooftop bar is perfect for happy hours from 3 to 7pm on weekdays, great for client meeting or a little break from the monotonous office hours. Try out the 350-bin list of wines, the newest additions being from Slovenia, India and Lebanon or simply sip a G&T while admiring the Marina Bay skyline – scenic no matter what time of the day your visit is.
