King of content: We’re still in the early days of sport’s relationship with the giants of tech, but already it has changed how we consume golf. The
PGA Tour has a live streaming deal with Twitter, for example. But Facebook is the biggest player and Facebook Live is the perfect platform to watch and engage with golf. Owning sport: More people use Facebook than any other medium in the world by a huge distance and pretty soon Zuckerberg’s baby will have 2 billion users. Sport is central to the plan and Facebook will move from being a second screen companion to TV to the destination where we watch it. The holy grail: The next decade will see golf striving to sell itself to the next generation. This is the holy grail for golf’s leaders, and more than anyone alive, Zuckerberg holds the key.
