Extraordinary complexity defined

The Macallan is one of the world’s most admired and awarded single malt whiskies since 1824. In its latest collaboration, The Macallan brings something extraordinary and innovative to the world with its avant-garde partner, Swiss watchmaker URWERK.

The Macallan x URWERK Flask is a design masterpiece, intricately made of 156 parts, all of which form a critically usable and highly collectible luxury masterpiece. There are two masters within the Flask, different yet complementary in its fields. Each of the limited edition flasks produced capture a moment in time and result in an exquisitely creative and technical process.

Ken Grier, Creative Director, The Macallan said,” The Macallan continues to push the boundaries of possibility and has been defying convention since 1825. Through inspiring partnerships we are continuing to change the rhythm of traditional Scotch whisky perceptions”.

Because of the topnotch mastery, intricacy and individuality of The Macallan and URWERK, it transformed ordinary everyday objects into a machined aluminium, titanium and stainless steel work of art, presented in a custom design box and loaded with intriguing features such as a cap with a connecting arm hidden with 1mm ball clickers, two titanium tanks that encased the whisky to enable different expressions, a unique spring-loaded multidirectional mouthpiece, winglets to stand the flask and a cask type wheel indicator.

Martin FREI, URWERK co-founder and chief designer, said:” When we were offered the opportunity to collaborate on this adventure we immediately said yes to the challenge. I knew the flask had to be exciting and daring, while also providing pleasure and I envisioned an object with complex simplicity, just like a good whisky – a flask mirroring its content where people can take it in their hand and then start their journey of discovery.”
