SPGA GOLF SERIES 2017
Singaporean golfer Johnson Poh won the 2017 Singapore Professional Golfers’ Association Golf Series by four shots, achieving a career best 64 in the process. The three-day event with a S$30,000 prize pool was sponsored by Mr Tan Teck Kee and held at the Raffles Country Club’s Palm Course. Poh came close during the last two events of the series when he finished 2nd and then 3rd before finally emerging as champion. He closed the final day with an 8 under 64 to finish at 14 under 202 to cap his maiden 2017 win. Poh’s illustrious amateur career highlights include winning four SEA Games silver medals at the 25th and 28th SEA Games, representing Singapore at the 16th and 17th Asian Games and the World Amateur Golf Team Championship (Eisenhower Trophy), was crowned Singapore National Amateur Champion in 2010 and 2014, and he topped the SGA Order of Merit in 2014 before turning pro in 2015.
