The game of golf just got better following the introduction of a new series of wedges, putters and golf balls by TaylorMade in a recent media event held in Saujana Golf and Country Resort. The product experience day for the press featured brand new putters, wedges and also the long awaited TP5 and TP5x golf balls.

Released in January in the US, the TP range of golf balls features a tri-fast core, dual spin cover and better teeto-green performance. The range of balls is the first of its kind to incorporate 5-layer construction to actively improve or increase driver distance without sacrificing any greenside performance.

Also introduced at the event were TaylorMade’s Milled Grind Wedges, which comes in three high-performance grinds tailored for various playing conditions and player types. The three brand new wedges were created following much input and extensive iterative testing from tour players to find the perfect grind geometry. The end product is three wedges, which offer either a low effective bounce, which provide the least amount of ground resistance; standard grind, which has a median ground resistance and high bounce, a grind that offers the most ground resistance.

Onto the putter collection, TaylorMade’s TP Putter collection features six individual wedges Juno, Soto, Mullen, Berwick, Ardmore & Chaska. The naming convention for the putters within the TP collection draws inspiration from areas, regions, and landmarks of some of the world’s greatest golf destinations and historic courses. The new TP collection utilizes new materials and new milling processes not only to enhance the aesthetics of each putter but to improve the product’s performance.

Media representatives were then treated to a friendly game of putting and chipping with bragging rights going to the fastest golfers who managed to land a chip onto a specified region on the putting greens and to score a hole with a putter. The fastest times went to Mr. Andrew Ng of Golf Malaysia at 45 seconds and Mr. Jonathan Ponniah of Pargolf at 1 minute 8 seconds. Prizes for the challenge included golf caps, belts, and other Taylormade merchandise.
