Inspired by board games, Anya Hindmarch presented her Autumn/Winter ’13 collection in a show set that was covered with dominoes. Hindmarch collaborated with set designer Rachel Thomas and World Champion domino expert, Robin Weijers, whose team of eight domino builders spent five days covering the set with 50,000 dominoes by hand. After a countdown, the dominoes descended down a flight of stairs around Hindmarch’s latest collection, which rose up though the dominoes. “I was inspired by the clean graphics and colour combinations of board games,” says the designer. “I worked with leather inlay techniques and used a combination of French goatskin, calf, and shagreen.” We love the backgammon board-inspired evening clutches with shagreen inlays, perfect for cocktail nights.
