GIORGIO ARMANI

Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - Collections Report -

The ’80s are back again this season, but as the first to dress women in power suits, Giorgio Armani is well-equipped to tackle the re-return. Titled Garconne, the show might be a riff on menswear elements – trouser suits, loafers, suspenders, waistcoats – but it could also be a nod to Rei Kawakubo with its dominant use of black, dramatic volumes, and manipulation of fabric by pleating and gathering to create shapes. For evening, Armani presented separates as an alternative to his red-carpet gowns; the embellished tops and tunics worn with long, slim skirts

and pointy-toed flats made an excellent discourse.
