Harper’s Bazaar (Malaysia) - - Collections Report -

This season, even more than usual, Sarah Burton and team showcased a level of craftsmanship that would not look out of place on the couture calendar. Though just 10-looks strong, the collection was an exercise in how fantastical fashion can be in the hands of the right designer. Here, Burton explored Elizabethan dress and elements of Catholicism, sending out McQueen interpretations of cardinals, popes, and angels. Pleated, embellished ruffs; pearl-encrusted shoes and headpieces; jewelled tights; gilded corsets; and dresses made of chiffon, pearls, and ostrich feathers – these extravagant creations exuded breathtaking beauty.
